To change default settings on your domain account:
- Login to your domain account
- Go at the top to "My Account - Account Settings"
- Under the "Account Settings" heading, click on the tab that says "Defaults"
- Here in the "Default Options" selection, you can change multiple default account settings
- Default Period: the default number of years that a domain renews when added to the cart manually, or when auto-renew processes. It is not recommended to have this default period value set to multiple years if you have auto-renew enabled for domains, as refunds cannot be offered for unintended multiple year auto-renewals. Refunds for one year auto-renewed domains can sometimes be processed if requested within 3 days after the renewal, depending on the domain extension.
- Transfer Lock: You have the option to enable/disable transfer lock on all new domain registrations. You also have the option to enable/disable the 60-day transfer lock when domain contact info is updated.
- WHOIS Contact Protection: You have the option to enable/disable adding of ID Protect to all new registrations.
- Auto-renew default options of enabling/disabling auto-renew 30 days ahead of expiration for domains, paid email packages, and ID Protect.
- Default Host Records settings: You have the option of using our default Host Records for newly purchased domains, or inputting your own custom default host records for newly purchased domains.
- There is also a "Default DNS" option, which can be selected under the "Defaults" tab. In the Default DNS section, you can choose to use our DNS (nameservers) on newly purchased domains by default, or use your own custom DNS (nameservers) on newly purchased domains by default
- When you are done making changes, click "Save Changes" at the bottom.
