I am seeing this error when I try to login to my account: “This account has been temporarily disabled. Multiple attempts to answer the Account Validation security questions have failed. This account has been disabled for 30 minutes”.
How can this be fixed?
Your account has "Account Validation" enabled, which is an extra account security measure that uses questions to validate a login. There can be some problems when account validation is enabled and the box is checked to "don't ask these questions again on this computer".
This may be what is happening in this instance: If the IP address of the computer changes, the browser cookies still let it know that it is the same computer so it doesn't ask the account validation questions, but the discrepancy in the IP address causes the system to detect an invalid login and locks the account.
To fix this problem, you can try a few different things:
- You can try deleting cookies on the browser, and then try logging in again.
- You can also try logging in through our affiliate site, enom.com, using the same login details. From there you can disable account validation. One option is to then leave the account validation disabled.
- You can also re-enable account validation. It will prompt you with questions when logging in again. If you do not check the box "don't ask me again on this computer", then it will work.
- After disabling and re-enabling account validation, you can also try setting your computer to have a static IP address, with still checking the box "don't ask me again on this computer". This may do the trick as well.
- You can also re-enable account validation. It will prompt you with questions when logging in again. If you do not check the box "don't ask me again on this computer", then it will work.
