For domain resellers with customer sub-accounts, automated account emails sent to your customers, like domain renewal notifications and password reset emails, are made to look like they are coming from your account email address.
This means that in order for the automated account notification emails to your customers to send successfully, there are requirements for the email address you use for your listed account email address.
The account email address needs to be a one that you can manage Host Records / DNS Zone Files for. This means it will likely need to be a custom domain email address, something like yourname@yourdomain.com.
SPF Record
The account email address needs to contain our SPF record to allow for our automated email system to send emails on your behalf. The SPF record that needs to be added to the Host Records / DNS Zone Files is:
v=spf1 include:_spf.emfwd.name-services.com MX ?all
DKIM and DMARC Records
It is also important that your account email address has the additional security measures of DKIM and DMARC. Many receiving email servers will reject these automated account emails sent to customers, if they do not also have DKIM and DMARC. This is especially true for customers receiving email at Gmail accounts, as the requirements for receiving email there have been updated in 2024 to need more strict security measures (Google article: Email Sender Guidelines).
To add DKIM and DMARC to your domain's email, see the HelpDesk article: Add DKIM & DMARC when using our DNS (Domain Account)
