The web hosting at mywebhostingaccount.com features an automatic "JetBackup" backup feature in cPanel (enabled by default), where account files and databases are automatically backed up daily and saved off-server for 30 days. These backups will not take up space in your web hosting account storage. Complimentary backups are provided for accounts up on a best-effort basis.
The automatic "JetBackup" backup feature can be accessed in cPanel to restore files and databases by doing the following:
- Login to cPanel in a browser
- Type in "JetBackup" in the cPanel search bar, and it will pop up.
- Select the file(s) or database(s) you would like to restore from a certain date. Unless specified otherwise, files will automatically restore to their same folder, and databases will automatically restore to the home directory. Check the box "Overwrite existing files" if necessary. Read the left-hand side panel in cPanel for more information about the process.
- Click "Restore"
Note: In cPanel, you can also manually create and save backups of the website files, MySQL databases, email forwarder configurations, and email filter configurations. See HelpDesk article: Manually Backup and Restore Web Hosting Content in cPanel.
