I am getting the error "403 Forbidden" (nginx) on my website hosted with you. What is this error and how can I fix it?

The "403 Forbidden" (nginx) error is an error within the Plesk Web Hosting control panel, where permissions for access to files are incorrect.

To fix this issue in the Plesk Web Hosting control panel:

  • go to "Websites and Domains > example.com > Apache & Nginx settings".
  • UNCHECK the box "Restrict the ability to follow symbolic links"
  • UNCHECK the box  "Smart static files processing"

More information about this issue and solution can be found directly in this Plesk support article:

This should fix the problem. If this does not fix the problem, please contact us and let us know.
