How do I create a MySQL database on my web hosting account?

Option 1 - Set up a database on the domain level:

  1. Open the Plesk Control Panel (see article "How to Access the Control Panel").
  2. Click "Websites and Domains" on the left, and then click the domain to which you'd like to add a database.
  3. Set a sufficient database limit by following the instructions in the article, Linux Hosting: Disk Space, Bandwidth, and Other Quotas.
  4. Click the Databases icon on the right side of the page, and then click the Add New Database icon.
  5. Type in the name of your database (which will automatically be prefixed with your web hosting account name).
  6. Create at least one database user name and password.

Option 2 - Set up a database on the hosting account level:

  1. Open the Plesk Control Panel (see article "How to Access the Control Panel").
